PSE&G issued the following Hot Weather Update Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m.: "About 6,500 PSE&G customers are currently without power this morning due to the extreme heat. Municipalities with more than 500 customers affected include: Fairview, Elizabeth and Jersey City. The utility serves 2.1 million customers statewide.

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. - United Water New Jersey officials are urging customers to conserve water and cut back on outdoor usage during this heat wave. Customers used an extraordinary 174.9 million gallons of water on Monday, July 5, reported Jim Glozzy, general manager.
